I have implemented a new site incorporating virtuemart, for my payment option i just want to use paypal initially instead of setting up merchant account,

The paypal setting i choice in the payment method type is "Credit card" this gives the user to input fields at the bottom of the page for there credit card details,
Am I correct in thinking i would need to incorporate some sort of SSL for this to work?, as it stands it asks the user for the details, I just need some help in what steps to take to make this secure, i'm not saving any card details to my site but it seems i will be sending these details over to paypal,

My end result I want is for the user not to be asked to have or to enter paypal username / details to proceed on the site as this could be a turn off to many users, do I need a paypal payments pro to do this? and to add in some sort of security?, even if there was a way to embed paypal at this stage to take payments from cards? or am i stuck with redirecting the user to paypal site.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

here is an image of what im trying to achieve, i've set up a paypal sandbox account, can use it when the paypal payment method is set to html-fourm based but not sure if i can test it with this.
