Product Custom Field Drop Down list not displaying

Hi I have a problem with displaying a custom field drop down list in the front end of my website:

Joomla 1.7
VM 2.0.8

The drop down list is showing in the backend but in the front end it is just displaying the first option no dropdown.

Custom Field is set to string,
Published: Yes
Cart Attribute: No
List: Yes
Admin Only: No
Is this a list: Yes
Hidden: No

Any help greatly appreciated, I'm going a bit crazy

I have also set the Template options:
Optimize CSS: NO
Optimize JS: No

weird, no one seems to know this ... :s This was a pretty easy option in Virtuemart 1.x
If I create some options in costum field, they only appear in a radio button. No Dropdown option available :s.

The Virtue manual don't tell us anything about this to choose. Ony 'how te create a costum field'
It seems to be that templating the costum fields is not set to in Virtuemart 2.x
