Blank page coming back from Authorize.net

When I click on "Place Order" (see attached image) to send the payment information to Authorize.net for processing, after a few seconds I get a blank page with the following HTML:

And this is the URL in the address bar:  https://mysite/index.php?page=checkout.thankyou&checkout_last_step=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=77

If I click the browser's Refresh button, and upon clicking Resend in the popup message, the page then displays correctly. This is obviously not something the customers should have to do, and is otherwise confusing.


This just started today after 50 or so orders of the page displaying correctly the first time. I'm able to troubleshoot almost all my development issues, but I'm at a loss on this one so far.
