Dear group,
I find the MVC is wonderful in VM-2. Understandable coding and could able to locate the template files. But i still unable to solve the language problem yet. The thread I have studied are..

http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=82607.0

http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=82643.0

I also tried with "com_language-file-tool_v1.2.0_j1.6.zip". After installation i could not able to understand what to do next because "/_languagefiletool_extensionfiles" is not available in the joomla installation [root] at all. I have installation two zip files. com_virtuemart_2.0-beta3.zip first and mod_virtuemart_allinone_2.0-beta3.zip.

I am using ubuntu linux 10.10 with lamp. In the admin-> system info i have made the folders "writeable".

Any help? I am planning to do a cart like dell dot com where check-out will be added in a next-next fashion. To test i need to install it correctly. Please suggest. And please ask question if my posting is not understandable.

The developer forgot to mention the third directory the user has to create in the site root directory. You need:

_languagefiletool_langfiles_original
_languagefiletool_extensionfiles
_languagefiletool_langfiles_processed

In _languagefiletool_langfiles_original I then created the subdirectories

subdirectory "administrator - language - en-GB" (into which you copy:)
en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini
en_GB.com_virtuemart.sys.ini
en-GB.plg_vmpayment_cashondel.ini

subdirectory "language - en-GB" (into which you copy:)
en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini (this is not the same file as above!)

Thereafter I created identical empty subdirectories in _languagefiletool_langfiles_processed

The next step is to copy the exension files into _languagefiletool_extensionfiles. For this I simply copied the complete administrator, components, modules and plugins folders into _languagefiletool_exensionfiles.

After all these preparations you can use the component.

Alternatively you could use the language files I uploaded here - They are not yet complete but work pretty good already.

Hi thanks for you reply. I saw your another thread down there and tried this language solution. But if you could make the explanation more beginner friendly then that will be helpful for every one. My doubts.

1)The three directories

_languagefiletool_langfiles_original
_languagefiletool_extensionfiles
_languagefiletool_langfiles_processed

are suppose to be located in the [root] or "_languagefiletool_langfiles_original" is the parent directory and other two are sub directory?

2)Where are these files
en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini
en_GB.com_virtuemart.sys.ini
en-GB.plg_vmpayment_cashondel.ini
Located? I don't find it in my VM 2 installation.

Thanks

Create all three in your site's root directory - that is the one where you see your "administrator" directory.

Quote2)Where are these files
en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini
en_GB.com_virtuemart.sys.ini
en-GB.plg_vmpayment_cashondel.ini

They are in ...site-root-directory\administrator\language\en-GB

I have just installed VM 2 Beta 3 on Joomla! 1.6.1 Stable version. I am running SQL database version 5.0.92 and PHP version 5.3.6. After completion of installation, when I go to the VM Administration Control Panel, the menu names are looking like the object names. I am very new to both Joomla and VM. Please help me out by suggesting me how to correct the problem of menu names.

I have attached the screen shots for your immediate understanding of the problem.

Thanks & Cheers

The Language files in VM2Beta3 were broken. Just download the fixed set of language files from the link provided by 'carsten888' in the post before yours (https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=83585.msg275642#msg275642),
unzip the downloaded file and replace the language files with the new ones in their corresponding directories.
