A few months back, we posted this same RFP on another job board. We received great responses and choose someone who has done a very good job.  We actually have more subcontract work now than he can comfortably handle for us given his other responsibilities, so we are seeking to add another subcontractor (or two!).

We prefer to work with North American resources only, please. We are not looking for offshore partners at this time, as we have found that as a small firm, this arrangement works best for us for communication and scheduling-wise. We are located in North Carolina.

We are a boutique web design and custom development firm that specializes in Joomla web design and custom development. We have an urgent project and a need for occasional freelance technical development work for someone with the following skills:

•   CSS
•   HTML
•   XML
•   AJAX
•   Javascript
•   Must have some experience and knowledge of Joomla CMS and PHP. VirtueMart and or Redshop experience very desirable.

We receive requests on a regular basis for custom development work, particularly for custom extensions. Lately we`ve had to turn down projects because we don`t have enough staff to do them! So we`re seeking another experienced freelance developer who is interested in working with us on a semi-regular basis.

If the person selected works out well, there will definitely be lots of additional work! Please note that this subcontract relationship is likely to be about 30 - 40 hours a month at most. We are not seeking full time help at this time.

Before bidding on our project, please be sure you meet all of the following conditions:
1.   Freelance – 1099 status or a firm. We do not pay "under the table", period.
2.   Flexible with hours on evenings and some weekends. We are in the Eastern time zone, so a Pacific time zone person might be a great fit to match up with our evening schedule
3.   Must be have excellent command of the English language, with very professional written communication skills. You must be able to take technical concepts and explain them in non-techncial terms to both our management and our customers, if needed.
4.   Able to consistently meet deadlines and customer commitments - this is very important!
5.   Able to furnish several recent examples of your work plus client references
6.   Willing to sign a Non-Disclosure and non-compete agreement , with a written ongoing subcontractor arrangement
7.   Have high ethics and communicate honestly and openly
8.                Willing to provide regular status updates (nothing fancy) on how the project is progressing. We need to know this regularly so we can properly manage client expectations.
9.   You should take customer satisfaction personally... because to each and every one of our customers, it IS personal.

We are looking for someone interested in ongoing work, with approximately $1,200 per month average volume. More is sure to follow if things work out very well with the right person(s).

We do business with our customers on a fixed project price basis, so ideally someone experienced enough to do fixed bid pricing based on spec requirements would be a good fit.

We also are willing to consider paying on an hourly basis depending on the project. In your bid response, please indicate your standard hourly rate and your general pricing and payment policies.
