Australian Stores
« on: August 07, 2010, 14:13:03 pm »
Hello

At present people running Australian stores need to hack code to make VirtueMart meet our regulatory requirements

Das123 has put together a great tutorial on the hacks required.

http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=54517.0

Is it possible for these changes to be added to core code so that the hacks are not overwritten on upgrade?

This would be of great benefit to Australian based stores.

Cheers
Danielle

To the developers:

The Aus code hacks referred to in 54517.0 are very simple and basically allow for the recording of an ABN 'business number' against the vendor, and also allow for a 'GST' mode whereby tax is calculated based on the customer's address.

About the code changes:
- They are very minor
- They do not interfere with any other aspects of Virtumart
- They are documented in the latest attachment to the 54517.0 topic.

(Further to Danielle's note: I have just updated the Aus GST code changes for VirtueMart v 1.1.8, and written a readme that explains all the code changes.)

So...in support of Danielle's request hope the above is useful.
