£ displaying as GBP in Order Confirmation Email
« on: March 18, 2009, 18:21:56 pm »
Can anyone help with this matter.

I've been trying to work it out and I believe that it has something to do with what "order_currency" is set to in the file confirmation_email.tpl.php at com_virtuemart/themes/default/templates/order_emails

However I can't find where this is set. :(

Any help would be most appreciated.

This has been fixed in 1.1.4, due in two or three weeks.

Did you fix this problem Cinos?  I have just upgraded to 1.13, and now each purchase order, the emailed one to the client - and the print view within the VM admin panel both show up GBP, instead of £.

I was hoping to go live with my site in a couple of hours, but I need to fix this issue first.  Apart from that, the upgrade from 1.12 - 1.13 has gone smooth.

I tried the fix suggested here.
https://dev.virtuemart.net/cb/issue/2481

But it does not work.  It just replaces the £ sign with a diamond with a ? in the middle, or removes the symbol all together.

The search continues.

Hi Spencerk,

No I never fixed it. :( I've left it as it is for now, due to the impending release of 1.1.4.

Hopeing that that will sort everything out. :)
