We will be releasing 1.1.4 version soon with fixes from this topic (first post)

I must say it in a low voice (never peeve the fate), but it seems that your patches solved the problem. I was truly on the verge of a suicide, the Virtuemart setup affected by the error is a production installation, yet up and running, selling a lot of items. So, having it stopped by this issue really was a trouble, a big one.

Perhaps it could be useful for you to know that the problems arised when I installed the Shopper Frenzy theme by Shape 5. The system is based on Joomla 1.5.1 and Virtuemart 1.1.3.

Again, thank you for your support! And remember: here in Rome we have many dishes you could really like ;-)

Well many hours and many pages later I have applied the fix, unticked all boxes mentioned and it is still happening. Joomla 1.5, VM 1.1.3.
Not now on the first page but occasionally only!
Now I get a new error on Checking out and I'm going to give in soon!!
Can't keep the client waiting any longer. Can't create Shipper or Shipping Rate - the 'fix' has done something way beyond me!!

Warning: Missing argument 2 for vmGet(), called in /home/firtree/public_html/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/ps_shipping.php on line 138 and defined in /home/firtree/public_html/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/request.class.php on line 26

Thank you for posting the files in the first post of this thread.

I applied them to a J1.5.10 and VM 1.1.3 and it worked perfectly.

I had the IE7 error just in my admin area.

Glad to see this will be rolled into VM1.1.4

After hours of trying and applying all fixes mentioned in this thread and others...i read the last post of Falco Stellare who mentioned his probems started when installing a template by Shape5.

As in my case, i'm also using a Shape5 template (Etensity), so i started looking there and i found my solution in a forum topic which had nothing to do with virtuemart...but everything with the (IE7) Operation Aborted issue.

Problem was with a script file: tooltips.js
Quote
Our tooltips script on some servers does not work try opening up the index.php file and look for the below and remove:

<script type="text/javascript" src="templates/etensity_inner/js/tooltips.js"></script>

Deleting this from the index.php solved my problems.
I had applied the fix from the first post allready...so i left it there...won't hurt.

If you have access to there forum, this is the link:
http://www.shape5.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,75/topic,5291.0/

case closed for me...move to next issue (vmcchk, SEF, etc).

Hi all,

I was having the IE7 problem on frontend "operation aborted" I am up to date with latest versions Joomla 1.5.11 and Virtuemart 1.1.3
I changed settings in Virtuemart Administration panel: Admin/Configuration/Site Tab/Layout/"Select Theme For Your Site"/Click Configuration Link/Untick "show images in a lightbox" box.
Fixed the problem for me.
Thanks to all posts, as one or two led me to this solution.

Hi,

I tried the fix in the first post, thanks for posting but it didnt work for me. I use 1.1.3 stable with Joomla 1.5.9. The error pops up when i try to make a new product.

I found out that if i remove mootools.js in media/system/js/ it does work. But ofcourse some functions dont work probably now. So its a JS error right?

Is there someone with the same problem, or know how to fix this? pff, working all day on this bug, hehe.

Thnx all

EDIT:
Ok, now i know for sure that the problems is cast by mootools. I copy/past the head tags from the generated html page into my template file and removed the mootools.js. Again, it works.

How can i remove that frustrating mootools from my 'add new product' page :)

plz help! thnx

I've installed the vm-ie-fix but still doesn't work.

It works without error when you set the Privacy options to Medium or below under Internet Options.
As sook Privacy settings go to Medium High or higher you still get the Operation Aborted message.

Half your problem besides your nasty little attitude is the fact you are posting this on June of 2009 and still using Joomla 1.5.9. Try an upgrade to the latest SECURITY release of Joomla, version 1.5.12.
If your coding is like your upgrading, no wonder your attitude sucks! :-*
I use Joomla 1.5.5 and VM 1.1.2
