I did this and it fixed some of the problems however I still get the error when I try to add a product to my categories.  I cleared cache and temporary files here is a picture of what i get.  my website is www.redirectfiles.org and I am in the building stage right now.  As i said i can get the categories now where i could not before I just cant add the products.  Maybe i am missing something.

Thanks for your time and effort

We are working with Joomla 1.0.15 and VM 1.1.3. With the IE7 & 8 we have the operation aborted issues.

Does the fix work also for Joomla 1.0.15?

EDIT: I found what was still causing the problem even after the fix in the 1st post.

Is called mod_product_categories with Category display type JSCOOK

I spent the whole day on this problem, and none of the patches for VM worked for me. Or maybe they all did work - not really sure about this. My problem was eventually solved after I fixed the flowplayer plugin, specifically the JavaScript initiating the player (what I did was just wrapped document.body.onload = function () { } around the script, so it would be called after the load).

Anyways, I thought I'd just drop a line here and thank the OP for the patch that might have helped me. Also to those who still have this problem, maybe you should try to look for the problem elsewhere (different component, mod, plugin). I'm pretty convinced this problem is caused by JavaScripts that run before all html elements are generated. Look for them and try my fix.

Urgent, I'm still having the frontend issue!!

Even, after applying fixes in first post, disabling all modules (category list, manufacturers, etc) and replacing the 'domready' for 'load' in behavior.php (line 108).

I have used the ja_purity template as the base point. (joomla 1.5.10, vm 1.1.2)

The problem to me seems to be slimbox library, when you click to add a product to the cart and the page still loading. I'm assuming that some divs or elements are still open while the slimbox try to write on the page.

Any thoughts? Please, help !!!

After continuous debugging, I found out that it was related to the template and how the DIVs were organized (as indicated in microsoft documentation). It was related to slim trying to create the window within the document while other DIVS were still being downloaded. So, I simply changed some div for tables in key places as IE6 and 7 seems to show the content after it has been completely downloaded and not on the fly as divs.

Well, problems have fixed to me after applying all the fixes proposed and modifying the template div structure.
Hope this help someone too.
cheers,
Fabian

Sorry for the delay my friend.

So here is the settings with i still get IE7 CRASH

Category Display type: JSCook
JSCookType: Menu
JSCookmenu Style: ThemeOffice
JSCookMenu Orientation : Vertical
JSCookTree Style: ThemeXP
Label of the dTree Root: Shop
Enable Cache: No
Module Class Suffix: (NOTHING THERE)
Menu Class Suffix: (Nothing THERE)

A quick fix of this problem is to NOT use JSCook Display type atm for this module.

I enable it just to test again 2 be sure befor replay and i start geting the crash error again so i turn it off again :)

Wish that help you find out what is happening. I'm not coder so i cant help you with that aravot( i wish i could).

I'm not using any other extensions exept VM/VM Language manager/ SEF404SH and modules  for random product show and VM login form. The template i'm using is a bit old but the problem is not from there.

We are talking for joomla 1.5.10 and latest VM

If you see the link, in my above post, I am using the same Joomla and VM version with almost same modules, maybe the issue is SEF404sh, I don't have that installed.

I have the same problem!

When I choose jscookmenu, I get an opration aborted, when I click on product details in the front-end. In IE8 the page stays black!!

If I choose another menu type there are no problems in IE7 and IE8

I am using joomla 1.5.9 with virtuemart 1.1.3 and template Mixxmag of Rockettheme. At this moment I don't use SEF.....

This topic is very big and I don't now which fix or solution I should try first??!!

Of course in firefox everything works fine even if I choose jscook.
