It's been a few months in the making - mainly due to the large number of products. It's also my first Joomla 1.5 site with Virtuemart.

It's an adult orientated site with 'novelty toys' and lingerie!

http://www.more4playuk.com

Extensions / tools / etc. :

Joomla 1.5.8
VM 1.1.2
VM Affiliate
JD Testimonials
JD GateKeeper
AlfContact
AlphaUserPoints
CSVImproved
JomComment
Member Care System
MyBlog
Xmap
SH404SEF
JW Simple Image Rotator
S5 VM Accordion

....thats the main ones, but if you want to know more just drop me a line.

Think we may need to revisit some of the graphics as they are quite big, but I think thats because my mate is using Corel which seems to artificially inflate the size of all the graphics. I've tried importing them into Photoshop and save for web but the quality is vastly reduced.

If anyone has any top tips for graphics i.e. reducing the size without reducing the quality then I'd be very grateful.

I've viewed the site from several locations in the UK over different broadband services and in the main it seems ok when loading.

I'm looking for a few comments mainly in relation to:

- Load times ?
- Any tips on images for web (as above) ?
- Navigation / user friendly or not ?
- General appeal ?
- Anything else ?
- Any great Joomla SEO tips / treats / extensions ?
- Any NEW Virtuemart Gizmos that would compliment this site ??

Let me know what you think. I can handle criticism  ;D

very nice work! congrat!

May I have a question, how do you make the top categories menu?
I mean the admin side... what kind of men are they?

Cheers and congrat again,
Bulesz

Lee Wilson

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

The main menu ( top categories ) is linked to virtuemart categories. Select new menu item, then the VM component, then in the parameters on the right put in the VM category ID (number). Job done.

Hope this is what you meant.

bulesz

Thanks for the reply, but how could you do that on the product page is still kept active the main category menu?

as here:
http://www.more4playuk.com/Sexy-Lingerie/Costumes/Hooded-Devil-Costume.html

the 4 Her is the main categ, and at the

4 Her / Sexy Lingerie / Costumes / Hooded Devil Costume (product page)

page the "4 Her" menu is still active ?

Many thanks bro! ;)

I will show my sites, and will be curious about your opinion..:)

B.

I see what you mean I think this is a in bug the the menu ID. Will look into this.

Thanks for pointing it out.

bulesz

I have found out..:)

So if you DONT have VM as component menu, the main categs menu would be the next level "boss" menu, so the flypage would "connect" to that and all subcategs..:)

Cheers,
Bulesz

bulesz

If you clikc in the pathway to the "Costumes", you will get a 404 page...:(

The same as on the "Lingerie / XXX / item pages"....

bulesz

Is the AlphaUserPoints working well for you? Do you use the AlphaUserPoints Coupon codes too?

Where do you use the Jomcomment? I couldnt find..:(

Cheers,
Bulesz

Lee Wilson

Sorry I don't understand you.

You say you fixed it. Is there  a post that discusses this ?

Can you post the link here ?

Lee Wilson

User Pints works well.

Not going to use the coupon codes.

Jomcomment is on the news articles, although we may see if we can get jomcomment working on the product reviews at a later date.

bulesz

No I didnt fix that, only played with the menus in the backend of my sandbox site...:)
And figured out that thing, the active cat menu follows the subcategories too and also the productpages.
Example: ("Egyéb termékek" = main category)

Hi

Thanks for the feedback.

I've just checked the terms and the only issue I could see was a space between 'web site' - now resolved. Have checked this in spell check (UK English). All appears OK.

Once again thanks.

sean14538

you were right, I was thinking it was supposed to be information instead of formation.
sorry, was trying to help :)
you really did do a nice job on the site.
sean

P.S. could you tell me how to get the popup window when a product is added to the cart?

Ah ha... phew I'm glad it was just that I read that section several times and was scratching my head... ha ha.

I think the pop up is in the site configuration, then site tab and then click on the configuration link on the right hand side under layout options. You have several options in there that may help you.

Once again thanks for your kind words.
