Send out e-mails to vendors on 'checkout' - no payment
« on: March 02, 2009, 00:47:12 am »
On a holiday home rental site, I want the customer to add homes he likes to a shopping cart, then on 'checkout' send out information request e-mails to all owners (listed as 'vendors') concerned so they can confirm prices, availability etc in person.
So basically, the payment button does not need to handle any payment at all. Anyone tried a similar solution? Where do I start to change the code for this?

I've found a suitable answer on the Dutch Joomla forum, and thought I'd share. There seem to be little answers on this forum.

Have a look at the cash delivery option as an example - you just need to change the text of the html that is shown on checkout.

So, if you don't want your customers to pay:
- make a new Payment method
- choose "HTML form based" as payment method
- In the configuration tab, make your HTML page to be shown when customers goes through final confirmation.
Below is a configuration page example:
Code: [Select]
echo '<div align="left">';
echo "Thank you very much for your order";
echo "You will receive a confirmation message shortly"<BR>";
echo ''</div>';
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
