VirtueMart Login and NOT Joomla login
« on: July 21, 2008, 21:56:28 pm »
Hi there,

Please can you point me in the right direction to solve this problem. My login Module, when users select "Register" goes to the VirtueMart Registration page. Great, no problem.

If a users tries to access a "Restricted area" Enter username & password or Register and they select register, it takes them to the Joomla registration page. I know this is probably a Joomla question, but I would appreciate help to solve it.

Thanks

Disable Joomla's login module, mod_login and either use the VM login module, and make sure that login is enabled in mod_virtuemart.

Hi Kelvin,

I am not having a problem with the modules. It is the Login/Registration page that appears when you try to access a restricted area.

Sorry, all I see is the VM login at that point. What versions of Joomla/VirtueMart are you using? Are you using secure url for the login?

Thanks Kelvyn,

If you go to http://www.marshalltx.us/~theapost/ and click on "Watch Now" at the top you will see what I am talking about.

Joomla 1.53 and VM 1.1

Thanks again

Hmmmm...

There is something wrong either with secure settings or your installation. Registration seems to work - but an error message is shown below the "Sending you a reg email" infobox:

Error
        * JFTP::login: Unable to login
        * JClientHelper::setCredentialsFromRequest failed

If you have sh404SEF beta version installed then uninstall it - see
http://extensions.siliana.com/forums/index.php?topic=9495.0

Also yout template is broken in FireFox - but I expect you knew that.  :)

I'm trying to install sh404sef to not receive the error:

        * JFTP::login: Unable to login
        * JClientHelper::setCredentialsFromRequest failed

- sh404sef is installed with the error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 311296 bytes) ...

I have changed memory_limit to 8, 16 and 32M, but always the same error 'Allowed memory...' and sh404sef is installed. When I try to save the FTP configuration I receive:
        * JFTP::login: Unable to login
        * JClientHelper::setCredentialsFromRequest failed

1. In fact, I can't install a german language Paket 'error: XML file ...'
2. I tryed to install this language Paket with FTP -> edit the FTP configuration
3. I can't save the FTP configuration 'error: JFTP::login ...'
4. I tryed to install sh404sef to resolve the Problem 3.
5. error 'Allowed memory...' with sh404sef installation & my Problem 1. is not resolved  :o

I'm using VM 1.1.2

Make sure you edit the correct php.ini file - for some reason some servers have more than one in the filesystem but only one of them is used.

Installing sh404SEF is not something you do to solve problems. You need to make sure that everything works properly on the site before adding in any form of SEF.
