Strange URL/CSS/template problem
« on: May 01, 2008, 13:24:06 pm »
I was wondering why the default templats and CSS were 'intermitantly' controling the shop. Then found that if i access the whole website using the full URL http://www.mysite.com the virtuemart template and CSS would NOT work, and if i used just http://mysite.com everything was fine.

I changed the URL in configuration/security from the default http://mysite.com/  to http://www.mysitestore.com/ and whilst it does cure the template, i cannot proceed to checkout.

Any suggesions would be aprreciated. Thanks.
joomla 1.5.2 virtuemart 1.1

If you are not using SSL the Site URL and SECUREURL in VirtueMart configuration security tab should be the same. Are you using .htaccess to redirect site users to the non-www version which you say is default?

Thanks for your reply. Yes the Site URL and SECUREURL are identical. Both without the www. as set when virtuemart first installed.

I am using ht.access file for joomla Search Engine Friendly URLs.
the ht.access is the unaltered original file:

VirtueMart 1.1 does not work with Joomla's built-in SEF.
