How to remove 'Category Layout' from URL

Hello,

We are currently using Virtuemart, Joomla and Yootheme Pro.

On our website I have created the home page as an Article page then have created a menu item for Virtuemart's category layout in a hidden menu but this now means that anything you click on, the category layout shows in the URL which is not what we want as when we transfer to our domain from current site we would need to redirect all of our pages and we have ALOT of pages and products!

For example

Our current website url:

https://www.schoolfurniture-direct.co.uk/mobile-folding-school-dining-canteen-tables.html

Our new website url:

http://timb114.sg-host.com/shop-by-category/mobile-folding-school-dining-canteen-tables

So we need to remove 'shop by category' from the URL so that we can do a smooth transfer!

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
