Hello,

since less than a week a site that was running perfectly and loaded for less than 2 seconds per page started to load for about 10 seconds.
TTFB now is ~10 seconds which is just crazy.

Site is running on:
Joomla 3.9.13
Virtuemart 3.6.10
PHP Version 7.2.19

Site is https://growshop-bg.com/en/

I have tried with different template, tried to disable caching, system plugins etc, all to no avail.

Any recommendations are highly welcomed.

Thanks in advance!

Jörgen

You seem to have many large images, this cost uploading time, 408kb,341kb,322kb,311kb,310kb,266kb,244kb,166kb,155kb,88kb = 3240kb ...

Other issues as well

Hi Jörgen,

But they are not the reason for high TTFB. Site score is 90 in Pagespeed insights.

The carousel is not present on category page so it just loads VM images https://growshop-bg.com/en/growbox-homebox

Thanks

The remark is from page Speed insights index 48.

You do not say what have you done to make it so slow?

It is just the very first load that is very slow (+10sec) though <  2sec on any refresh or return, so there is some caching somewhere.
Clearing the browser cache makes very little difference  ..  reloads are fast

This is apparent on all VM pages with no difference between cat and detail pages which is strange .. normally if any page would be excessively slow it would be cat pages

Straight Joomla pages ( faqs, links etc ) load without delay so definitely appears to be a VM problem

Do you know what sort of server caching is being used ( if any) ?

Have you asked your host for advice?
