Hi there,

How can I show parent products only in search results?

balai

This feature does not exist in the VM's native search.

If you are willing to use a 3rd party extension for search, consider using Custom Filters.
There is a setting for the type of the returned products (Parent, Child). You can even search for child products and return as results their parents.

If you go to the subcategory module looks for products only from this subcategory. How to make the search be conducted throughout the catalog?

Hi balai,

Do you happen to know if Custom Filters is able to sort by selecting from multiple drop downs and then clicking a button to search? Similar to https://www.4wdpartshop.com.au/ near the top in the red SELECT YOUR VEHICLE row. You have to select from the Vehicle Make, Vehicle Model and Model code / Motor / Year drop downs and then it searches. The one part I would like to do differently is not search after selecting from the third dropdown, but instead wait until a button is clicked.

Thank you.

Currently the feature to show original products in search results is not available. You can simply search for products from subcategories by going to the subcategory module. If you're willing to use a 3rd party extension to search, consider using Custom Filters.
