Hi,
when I use the generic child variant and I set that the parent can't be sold, I keep his quantity to zero and, when I go on the product on the site I need to choose the variant and then appears the buy button. With multi-variant I can always decide not to sell the parent product leaving "Please Select" in the drop down menu in the custom fields back-end page but, if I set the quantity of the parent product to zero, when I go on the product on the site under the variant selection drop-down windows I have the link "Notify Me" that I use for the products out of stock so I need to set to 1 the quantity of the parent product in order not to create misunderstandings. Is this a bug? If the parent product can't be sold I fix his quantity to 0 without problems? it can be solved... may be I made something wrong?
Thank you.

I wrote a plugin to add Core features to generic variantes.
https://shop.st42.fr/en/products/product-child-variants.htm
I can add auto redirect to first child with stock in the plugin if you need it.
