How to upgrade to latest release?

I am running 3.0.16.
If I use automatic update from within Joomla it upgrades me to 3.0.18. Or should I manually upgrade using the latest version: 3.0.18.6?

3.0.18.6 is still under user test, so if you want to help out testing on a backup copy of your site you can get it here: http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/1037/com_virtuemart.3.0.18.6_extract_first.zip

ATM some are using 3.0.18.5 on live sites, it's a case of if it works OK for you and your template overrides then why not....

I would not use the live update in Joomla for VM, as it is too easy to forget to update the aio component at the same time.

On test server 3.018.6 seems to run fine. But there are many decencies, a lot of 3rd party plug-ins and components.
To be on the safe site, should I install 3.0.18 on production server then?

IMHO 3.0.18.6 is more stable that 3.0.18

My backup test sites are almost always local copies of the main site with all other extensions installed so if all is OK there I udtae the main site.
