Only no emails on new orders

Joomla! 3.5.1 and Virtuemart 3.0.16 using standard plugins

The vendor and customer get no e-mail with a new order, but when you change the status of the order e-mails are being sent. I already checked the emails settings in the configuration. I'm puzzled...

by new order u mean what?
paid for or just pending?

Pending doesn't send.. if u require then make another or use another status for pending and send on that
payment plugins are responsible for triggering the emails
