How to show different stock levels for different sized products?

Hi

This is the scenario. I have a product that is available in 4 sizes and we have different levels of stock for each size.

So when customers visit the product details page or this product I want them to be able to only select the product sizes that are still in stock. So, If i originally had 2 items in medium size and they have both been sold, I don't want the medium option to be displayed to the customer. Only items in stick should be displayed.

Is that possible and if so, how would I achieve this please?

Multivariant, oder generic child variant

so i create the product as normal and then create a multi variant or child variant custom field. Is that correct.

Are there detailed instructions anywhere for how to achieve this?
