[3.0.10][ACL] Manager can no longer edit products/categories
« on: September 24, 2015, 21:13:35 pm »
Hey hey,

We have a user in the user group Manager.
We have given her only access to categories and products.

Since the update to 3.0.10 she can no longer edit products.
An error is displayed COM_VIRTUEMART_ALERTNOAUTHOR

Even when I set all permissions under Products to "Allow" she still can't open and edit a product.
She can create a new product, but the new product she created can't be opened by her either.

Also she can't see any category. Same when I set all her permissions to allow also.
She can't see the new categories she creates either.

How can I fix this?

Thanks,
Wim

PS:
Not sure if this is related, but under Products permissions Edit, Delete and Edit state are displayed twice.

This error COM_VIRTUEMART_ALERTNOAUTHOR does not exist in VirtueMart. Sounds like you have something old installed. For example the (very old) ACL plugin? Btw, did you read? http://docs.virtuemart.net/manual/general-concepts/185-administrative-frontend-access-with-acl.html

Hello Milbo,

It was COM_VIRTUEMART_ALERTNOTAUTHOR (with the extra T)

Anyway, no ACL plugin and yes read the docs.

I tried something different this morning, I set the permissions to allow 1 by 1 and see what happens.

It seems COM_VIRTUEMART_MANAGE_VENDORS (untranslated in en-uk/nl-nl btw) had to be set to Allow.
After that it seems to work again.

Regards,
Wim

sounds like you work on vendorid=2 then.
