product type and list of fields

Hi

|Thanks for all your work on virtuemart. I am using CVSi to import 2000 odd products from an old store

I have two quick questions.

First, is there a list of all the fields somewhere and what they are for?

Second, on the existing store you can click on 1 product (in this case 'cylinder pulls') and go to a page where there is a drop -down called 'type'. I am not too worried about the drop down but is there an equivalent of 'product type' (I suppose its like variations?) within VM?

I think you are talking about variants (custom fields). eg see http://demo.virtuemart.net/default-products/vm-t-shirt-multi-variant-detail
