I am trying to upgrade Virtuemart 2.0.26d to the latest version 2.6.12 .

I cannot do it via the component as I get the invalid store token message. I realize after reading other posts that this is due to some interference with Akeeba.

However, now if I try to update using the Joomla extension manager I get a balnk page which I have not had before with Virtuemart upgrades - the url on the page is my site followed by administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=install but there is nothing but the blank page.

I'm wondering whether it has something to do with the upgrade being a .tar.gz when previously that have been a zip.

I know this may seem like a simple question and hopefully no doubt there will be a simple answer so please excuse my knowledge level on this.

Have you tried installing via the tmp install directory?

Here's a similar topic: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=126448.0

Thanks for the info. I've followed the links and increased pmp memory, checked logs etc but still no luck. There seems to be some files missing that virtuemart may be trying to access according to the logs but not sure how or where these should be installed.

How do you install via the tmp install directory?

I've gone through all the forums and all the suggested solutions here but no luck.

My host has even had a go at it and he was able to get it to work via the extension manager without the white page (not sure why I see it) but still when the component was opened it still indicated it was the current version and an upgrade was available 2.0.26d.

Please tell me the new version of Virtuemart is supported by Joomla 2.5.27

May be time for me to swap to a commercial shop version. I just can't work this out. The WWOD seems to be an issue at my end if my host saw success at the installer end but still doesn't explain why the component is still asking for an update.

I think you mix up what Virtuemart does and what joomla does.

First all vm2.x versions support any joomla 2.5 version.

If you have trouble updating your store, you can always copy the files by FTP and use the tools "update database" in the BE.

The joomla update page is cached. So to be certain I suggest to delete the cache.

VirtueMart is also commercial. Searching with google is free, but without any doubt they are commercial, right?
