how to set rules calculate with Total amount (incld. shipping)

Hi,

We want to make GST calculation to the total amount. I tried all the options in Virtuemart but it does not calculate for the total amount. It calculates for the total amount without the shipping.

We want total (total produce price + shipping) to calculate GST.

Can you please help

we have Virtuemart 2.6 and Joomla 2.5

Always a difficult question. Tax on shipping is kept separate for lots of reasons. One would be that free products will still cost the same to send. So calculations are normally only done on product totals.
In shipping you can add a price and a tax of gst to just the shipping cost ..
Others just add the cost to the total overall. So ten dollar shipping just becomes $11.00 ..
I notice that in pay pal you can set the gst on postage so you could tell the customer that gst will be added once you get to paypal on the total.
I also note that eBay are charging a fee for setting a shipping cost. Thus sellers are now just making the product shipping free and adding on the cost to the product to try and avoid that charge.


Customers may argue about postage totals GST . The Internet is full of questions about this practice .. Anyway .. Few options there or you will have to find an extension or pay for someone to do this for you.
