Hiding add to cart in VM2.9.9

Hi,
I am pretty new to Joomla an Virtuemart but I am very happy with it and my site is almost done.
Virtuemart is very powerful and a great product, I am very interested about the final VM3.0 release.
But what happened that I am writing here?
After switching from JM2.5 to JM3.3 and from VM2.6x to VM2.9.9 there are some minor styling issues left.
One is the fact that I can´t hide the "add to cart" button on the product page.
But this is important because there a custom fields in the product details page, which have to be filled in before.
In VM 2.6x I managed to solve this issue, in VM 2.9.9 I can´t change it.
