I am wanting to create different flypages for the same product using different wording and layouts for search engines.  But I don't want a customers who enter my site by the home page to see all of these different version (just one since they are all the same product).

I am using Joomla! 2.5.14
VirtueMart 2.6.10

How can this be done?  Is there an extension or another way someone can suggest? Thank in advance for any assistance.

That's a useless idea. If you allow a search engine like Google to detect such additional pages, it will show that page in the search results and users can access it too, if they click the serps. If you add a 'noindex' for those pages it won't be listed in the search results, but your primary page will probably receive a lower ranking, because its pagerank is split between your primary page and the additional ones.

LOL

Tis an idea with little merit!

If you work out how to fool google for ranking, just sell the idea and give up working for a living.

This had nothing to do with ranking.  It is like doing a split page.  Certainly is SEO related as it will increase rankings.  Basically I want to created different headers, different key words for one product that has this sort of flexibility.  And open mind tends to make a more brilliant one.

Except when that "open mind" is as a result of too many narcotics being imbibed

So you want the robot to see a different page to a person.

The first thing you need to do then is work out what is different in the apache headers when a robot visits and then use that to serve the pages you want to the different groups

In the spirit of openess try looking here as a start

Just kidding - but somehow the idea reminds me of the http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/pharma-hack  :)

I have a very marketable product.  It can do may things. But because I am limited to only 20 keywords for a fly page, I need to create multiple pages.  And also this will help me discover which way I market is where I should focus my efforts.

So think of my product being describe with 500 key words or phrases. So I need 25 fly pages for the same product.  When they click to buy, rather than have 25 products, this would just be one product.  As long as I can know what page brought them in from the search engine and the count.  I am good.

Now I did not want to link the menus on the current site to confuse people.   Are you telling me it will lower my search engine listing if I do not link to menus?   As that is one of the main reason for doing this.  TO get listed in the search engines.

Am I better just having multiple sites instead? Let me know and thank you for the open minds. :)

Is there an extension or method to allow me to offer split pages to visitors so I can test multiple fly pages to find out which one has the highest conversion?
