Using Joomla 2.5.14, Joomla DK, SE, GB Multi language, Virtuemart only DK language,  Beez20 copy template, Virtuemart 2.0.24, PHP Version 5.3.27 , overrides.

Joomla site is live - http://danrider.dk -  shop is only for registered shopper .

Just added 1 virtuemart user with csvi - country name is not translated in BT.
Checked vm country language file and it is ok.
FE user account maintenance is ok - Danmark.
BE user management is ok -Danmark
Country name in cart view says Denmark.

You can go to VirtueMart Configuration > Countries, search for "Denmark" and unpublish it. Then crate a new country "Danmark" and publish it. If I remember correctly, this is what I did long time ago on my german language website to solve this problem.

Since I'm not registered in your shop, I can't see much. But what I can see is that you didn't do some of the required multilanguage configurations described here:
http://docs.virtuemart.net/tutorials/36-multilingual-store/99-multilanguage-setup.html
You need for example 3 menus, one assigned to each language and each danish menu item needs a counterpart in the other two languages. This is also required for the cart link.

I followed that tutorial - multilanguage status is all green.

Only have 1 language DK  in the shop

...each danish menu item needs a counterpart in the other two languages. This is also required for the cart link. Sorry but I dont understand this - please explain.

I assumed that you want set up your shop with three languages. In that case you would need a danish menu shop menu with all shop categories and two additional copies of that menu for the other two languages. Same for the cart link, (Joomla- ) login module, etc.

Is the country name language only in English for the user you imported with CSVI or do you always see the english language country dropdown list in the cart view?

Yes of course - my mistake - have changed my first topic re. language.
Thanks - now I understand but at the moment i only want one language DK in the shop.

Have one vm user that I added manually and it is the same.
BE dropdown country list in vm user management and the FE dropdown country list in user/shopper account maintenance is correct translated country names. It is  in the cart view Billing To and Ship To fields that the country name is not translated.

Just in case you are using English as the default backend language, does the language change if you switch your Joomla backend default language to Danish?

Hello,

I have the same problem : country name is translated everywhere (French) except in the customer address in the cart view.

fr-FR.com_virtuemart_countries.ini is OK.

Sincerely

jjk

Please enable 'Debug System' and 'Debug Language' in Joomla Global Configuration and open the 'Add/Edit Billing Address'. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and check if your language countries.ini has been loaded in addition to the en-GB.com_virtuemart_countries.ini.

You should see lines something similar to this (if your shop is bilingual):
**Loaded** : JROOT\administrator\components\com_virtuemart/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_virtuemart_countries.ini
**Loaded** : JROOT/administrator/language/de-DE/de-DE.com_virtuemart_countries.ini
