Multiple VM2 shops on multiple domains with single administration point

Hi all,

I client of mine, is asking for a way to be able to handle multiple Virtuemart 2 stores on multiple domains, but within same administration interface.
I'm well aware, that VM2 is not able to do this out of the box (at least not to my knowledge), but was thinking if anybody have heard or had any success accomplishing this in other ways? Perhaps using plugin other on top of everything?

Basically what my client wants, is to build a number of shops selling completely different products, but receive all orders and maintain all products within same administration tool.
I read that it seems to be possible with Magento and Presta - but would really like to go with VM if at all possible, as I have no experience with either of the other systems.

I've Googled and found a few dead links as well as links to VM1 stores doing this - but nothing recent or anything I've dared trying out yet.

Anybody have a take or experience on this?

EDIT: The threads i've managed to dig up in this forum, has mostly been about Multi Vendor capabilities, and unless the definition for this is somewhat wider than i'm thinking, Multi Vendor is not what we are looking for
