Checkout keeps repeating process after Paypal - can't check out

Hi I am using VM 2.0.26d. Joomla v2.5.17
I have a sandbox setup for Paypal.
When I pay with paypal I get redirected to the site but it just keeps going from checkout and then select payment method then back to checkout again and so on..
Is there a fix for this?
Also after payment has been processed by paypal I would prefer it to just say thank you and the process should be finished, the customer shouldn't have to confirm anything else as they have ordered and payed.

Any help would be appreciated as my customer wants their site live ASAP

Thanks for that I searched but couldn't see anything. I disabled the OPC and this has stopped the repeating process but I would like to have the page after paypal checkout to be the thank you page. Is there any way of automatically confirming the order after payment as this step is not really needed and could confuse customers as they have already confirmed and paid.
