Product filtering on Product details page

(I am messing around in Shop mens section. The Shop Womens with cf filters.)

I have come across an impossible task and i dont know how to approach this.

My client needs to filter his products on the Product details level.

Meaning... (I will explain the categories below)

Mens
     Model
        Boxer
        Brief
        Trunk
     Print
        Cosmos
        Eagle
        Forest
Womens
     Model
          Brief
          Cheeky
     Print
        Skulls
        New York
        Paris

So if a user like the TRUNK cut and the Forest pattern, it shows the relevant product.(Which is cool) But now if the user is on that specific product detials page, and wants to choose another pattern, he wants the product details page to stay on the same cut, but change the pattern?

I hope i made this clear enough?

I am using cf filters for custom fields, which works great for the filtering via category but this product details option has me stumped.

I wil answer your questions as best i can.

If i have to probably pay someone to do this, i guess i will have to. Please let me know what i can do?
