Childs products list dissapear when apply custom field to child.

The situation is as follows:
I created two custom fields:

• 
  Default:''
• 
  Tooltip:''
• 
  Layout position: 'onbot'
• 
  Admin only: 'No'

I create a new product, 'Product 1', and I assign the custom field 'child', I create products 2 children 'Product child 1' and 'Product child 2'.
The 'Product 1' is marked as unpublished and children products are marked as published.

By accessing the product page 'Product child 1' or 'Product child 2', appears the list of childs products, in this case two.

But when I assign the custom field 'test string' a child product, when accessing their product page, the list of childs products no appears, has disappeared.

How I can fix it? Each child product should have its own custom fields product information, at the same time should be displayed the list of other childs products

I find that debugging information in the object of the custom fields used to build the list of products childs is missing. specifically:

$ this-> product-> customfieldsSorted ['ontop'] does not exist on the object.

It is not a bug, but not desired. We have enhanced this drastically for vm2.1. There will be a beta release for testing soon.

Use this option
@Added option to prevent overriding whole Catproduct settings if you use VM "Overwrite plugin values of the parent" for child product. This made "brothers" not visible, so check this setting if you overriding plugin values and you want to show whole group of products on child product details page.@

Hello I have a similar problem,
After choosing one of the child products from child variant option when i view the parent, the selected product is the only option in the child variant option.
I have to page back in order to reselect my child products.

I have checked Parent Orderable (which i want) and Display parent as option (which i also want).

In my child products I have check overwrite plugin something box in order to have different related products for each variant.

Also Showing Product Sku,Weight etc doesn't work, it always shows product name as an option.

I hope this helps to find out what is wrong.

Generic Child varaiant.

Generally the option is quite bugged,  i managed to make it work if i remove all custom fields from child, apply a single related product and click the option "overwrite parent plugin values".

Only then it worked propertly having all information of parent and different related products. This is not a real solution but it worked for me.

As for "Also Showing Product Sku,Weight etc doesn't work, it always shows product name as an option." that wasn't fixed, i did a work around by modifing some VM core files and using "note" field for naming the product. The solution of this is posted by someone in the forum.
