Create a menu item for each category?

Hello (first post and new to VM),

I am looking into a website (joomla 2.5, virtuemart 2.0.22) which has two languages with 100+ product categories/subcategories.

We want to enable language linking for virtuemart pages: i.e. when switching language, go to the same product page in the other language. Like it works with normal Joomla content (when linked via the menus).

We do not have menu items for the virtuemart categories. Just one menu item pointing to the top-level category. Is there a simple way to achieve what we want? Do we have to create menu items for each VM category? (*horror*) If so, is there a fast/batch way to do so?
