On VirtueMart 2.0.22a, I'm getting the following image errors:

COM_VIRTUEMART_MEDIA_CHOOSE_TYPE

and

vmError: Couldnt create thumb, file not found .../images/stories/virtuemart/typeless/images/stories/virtuemart/product/ha_33977_hangingcagedclown_L copy.jpg

All images exist under .../images/stories/virtuemart/products. I don't know why or how the above directory is being created.
