Stock level not changing

I think this is a basic question but I can't find an anwser.
Once a product is brought the stock levels are not changing.
I'm not referring to (at this stage) child products but main products.
The 'Action when a Product is Out of Stock' action is set to 'Notify Me' and 'Send low stock notification' but no change.
It must be a straight anwser, can anyone point me in the correct direction.

Using VM 2.0.20b in Joomla 2.5.9

vm>admin>configuration>order statuses

look at the Stock handling column

Only when the Status of "is removed" has been reached is the stock adjusted

Set the stauses of "is removed" and is reserved  to meet your needs

Glad to help 

VM has many configuraution options to help you manage your ecommerce site and it is easy to miss some of them.

I always use a test site to see (localhost on xampp) to see the effects of various configurations - nice and easy to change back if things don't go as expected!

Hi.  I have the same problem with stock control.

I have used the stock control plug-in and  I get the options on the customer end.  So I am assuming I have set up this module correctly.
But, the stock levels are not being deducted. in the Order Status, what do I set to "reservedl" and what do  i set to "available"  etc....

This is the correct thread.
 I am just seeking clarification of the solution that was given to Squawk on the 16 July.  The English was not clear.

(This is my first development using VirtueMart and I am still learning how to use this forum.)

Go to

vm>admin>configuration>order statuses

look at the Stock handling column

The point at which stock is adjusted is determined by the configuration of the order statuses

If you look in admin you will see the statuses
vm>admin>configuration>order statuses

The stock handling column shows what happens to stock when a status is set

Stock is subtracted ("is removed") when a status with the "is removed"setting is set for an order

The other statuses should be easy to work out.
