Just finished downloading around 3,200 products from my supplier that will be drop-shipping for us but we need to organize and put everything in categories and departments. Just trying to figure out a way to do so, we downloaded the files via "xml template" not sure if we worded it right which was created by our developer and it also has a "cron" implemented so the products can automatically update stock/new products every 48 hours. We will be uploading over 40,000 products within time but just wanted to start off with these and organize these first but not sure where to start :/

Just curious, how is looking one xml peace of one product? Could you post one?

I think CSVI Improved could import xml file with products into Virtuemart.

http://www.easysoftware.eu/virtuemart-xml-product-import-easy-parser (be carefull, probably this web site hacked)
or
http://www.easyjoomla.org/virtuemart-xml-product-import-easy-parser

Could I ask you to post in this thread your opinion about this solutions, cos
this xml importers aren't reviewed on current forum in 3d party section and
even here http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/virtuemart-extensions/virtuemart-import/22722

Hmmm the page is trying to load this?
http://wetncrazy.com/undefined, takes a second for nothing. Initialized in jscript. For what is this request?
http://wetncrazy.com/%C2%A0 takes also a second for nothing.
Seems also your server is quite slow by cpu speed. I assume the images are not thumbnailed already, so it is doing it on the fly for new products. you have 40k products so it is very likely you see everytime opening the homepage other products then before. Usually the thumb creation (they are only created if they do not exist) is usually a lot faster. It depends mainly on the CPU speed. The normal time for a thumb is maybe 50ms-200ms. Interesting I just talked with someone about this yesterday. Maybe a small task in the media view is a good idea "Create missing thumbs".

But beware the unecessary 404, they also take a lot time.
