I purchased a template from template monster - http://www.templatemonster.com/virtuemart-templates/39024.html
As you will see it is running virtuemart 2.0.2 , now looking into this further the version is not really ready or stable ?
I have met many problems with the version , from cart not showing only shows notify me  although - Products Out of Stock are orderable, and the field 'Availability' below is displayed
Availability  is checked
Delivery options do not seem to work etc etc
Basically I want to know whether it is virtuemarts problem or template monsters , as I have just received this email from them -

The template you purchased http://www.templatemonster.com/virtuemart-templates/39024.html should be compatible with VM 2.0.2 version. According to the official community info gathered here http://info.template-help.com/help/e-commerce-templates-compatibility-table.html this version is not compatible with any further. If there are any issues with 2.0.2 version then let me know and I will pass them to our speshitpillts for the investigation.

If you can provide me with detail info of why 2.0.2 isnt really a working version then that would be great , if obviously it should be working fine then info on that as well would be good .

Thank you all and look forwardto your replies

There were bugs and security issues with that version. Versions below 2.0.10 are considered as unsecure and should really not be used on live sites, and we are currently at 2.0.18b with the next version, 2.1 to be available in a couple of weeks or so.  As it is an old template it would most likely just be a case of rewriting the template overrides and updating some css.  The changes introduced in the various versions are documented. Just look at http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option=com_content&id=416  and work backwards.
