Module or Code that can display total for a category on flypage

i am needing a customer module (or code) that i can use to display a total for a category.

For example, some of the categories on my store contain 10-20 products.  Many times, customer purchase all of the products for the category.   To make life easier for our customer service reps that quote prices over the phone, it would be nice to have the total for a particular category displayed on that category flypage.   

I would like the code to be dynamic, so that if i change a price of a particular item, the price that is displayed on the category is updated as well. 

I will need to make certain that if the product has a discount, the accurate price is reflected in the total.  If possible, if a product is a certain type, i would like for it to be excluded in the title

I did have this developed for Virtuemart 1.1x.  I will need this to be developed for virtuemart 2.1.

Finally, i would prefer a plugin/module as to a hack.
