Hi,
I've come up with another problem, how do I go about linking from the front page to a category page when the category page uses a different template from the front page.
Thanks in advance

Please always mention exactly the versions you use:  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=79799.0

Asuming you are linking from the Joomla main menu to a category and are talking about using a different Joomla template for that  category then make your menu assignment in either Joomla's template manager or assigning a Template Style in the menu item manager - whichever works best for your site.

Thanks for the reply, sorry I forgot to include the versions I'm using. VM 2.014 and Joomla 2.5.8
I had those settings set correctly you mentioned but still can't get it to work.
I've uploaded to a temp server: http://www.elandesigndev.co.nz/sapphire/index.php

On the left hand column you can see the link "Prom Ball Gowns" there will be several of these dress types in this menu and what I'm trying to achieve is when you click on one of these it takes you to that category but in the template that has the white background, I would really appreciate your help here.
Cheers

Hi Kelvyn,
I think I might have fixed it, I deleted the copied template (from the front page template) made a fresh copy and now it works!
