Hi, Please could someone tell me the best way to upgrade from VM 2.0.4 to VM 2.0.10 WITHOUT loosing any information which has already been uploaded?  I have had endless hassles with VM upgrades and I really can not spend another year plus to get the site in question working properly!!!!

Hello,

You just update your site ... its an update not an upgrade, but in any case first take a backup on test it on a local installation because from 2.0.4 there are changes to the templates and you need to update your custom template.

Just use the Joomla extension installer, and install it as if it were a new component it does not wipe the database, but as bytelord says, do it on a site backup and check if you need to remake any template overrides.

Thank you gentlemen, I managed to get it done, and it looks like nothing has broken, so back to problem 1 we go :)
