replace the product image by the image of the category the product belongs to

Hello,

I want to change the look of my featured product module view. Therefore I would like to replace the product image by the image of the category the product belongs to. Is that possible?

My Problem is, that my category images are exactly the same as the images for my products in the categories. If I can't call the category image I would have to upload and assign the same images twice, because as far as I can see it seems not to be possible to assign any other images for products in the backend then the ones in the folder "images/stories/virtuemart/product/". Even if I change the settings for product images to "images/stories/virtuemart/category/" the pictures can not be selected in products backend view.

Therefore it would be nice to just be able to call the image of products parent categories.
