Need a delivery date and time, or service zone plugin for your VirtueMart shop?

Stores that offer scheduled deliveries like flower shops, grocery stores and even balloon delivery services have special requirements that simply aren't possible using just custom fields or other shipping plugins.

We are looking for such a plugin and naturally are willing to pay for it.
But as we feel this is a fairly small plugin, the price your are asking after our inquiry for a quote is way too high........

The website where this plugin will be used on is www.123gebak.nl and at checkout we need the option you are describing in your initial forum message....except that we have 2 time slots and delivery on 6 days every week.

Hopefully you will investigate and rethink your quote again............

If someone is looking to purchase one of our existing VM 1.1.x Delivery Date and Time modules that are already developed, those sell for only $85 USD.

However, I believe you had requested a quote for creating a new VirtueMart v2.0 Delivery extension, which as most developers know is a major rewrite from VM 1.1.x.  Since we currently do not have any pre-developed VM 2.0 Delivery plugins, it would need to be a custom development project and has been quoted as such.  If you are not able or willing to pay for the initial development, then I'm sure if you wait for several months, you will be able to get a VM 2 Delivery plugin that is funded by someone else and eventually released for commercial sale by the vendor.

I know you would really like someone to invest time in developing this on spec, and then sell it to you at a fraction of that development cost. You are hoping to pay a pre-built extension price for a custom development project, and you're frustrated that so far, no one has built what you need. I'm sorry that we aren't able to help you with that.  We must stand by the price we quoted. There simply isn't enough market demand for this type of plugin to develop it on spec, hoping to make enough money back in later sales. Frankly that would be a pretty poor business decision when there are many other potential Joomla extensions with much higher client demand our team could build instead, and a heavy load of client-funded project work on our schedule. We'll certainly keep in touch and let you know if/when we have a VM 2.0 Delivery plugin available for general sale.

Thanks so far, pricing you quoted is way out of budget as we only need a fraction of the funtionality you have in delivery plugin you created on VM 1.x

Here is some additional information on the currently available Delivery modules by Polished Geek.

We have several different Delivery solutions, all of which work with VirtueMart v1.1.x and Joomla 1.5, available for immediate sale:

1)   Our latest and most full featured is the AJAX Calendar Grid Delivery module. It has a very intuitive frontend display that allows the shopper to easily see what delivery times are available for the upcoming week(s). This module costs $95 USD

3)   Lastly, we have both postal code and regional zone Delivery modules, where the delivery prices can vary by zones. Please be aware that as of now, none of these Delivery extensions have been updated to VM 2 or Joomla 2.5. We will only create VM2 equivalent versions if a client chooses to fund development as a custom project, due to the extremely limited market demand for these full-featured delivery extensions.

Is has been a while since our last reply.  Since than I created the bakery webshop using HIKASHOP (Business version) www.hikashop.com.
The file upload, custom field selection of characteristics (choose between e.g. yellow, red, blue item is standard and easy to create), time & date option as well as calendar option is included and explained in details.

Virtuemart has much more potential but because this time & date option was very much needed and the budget wasn't thousand of dollars we had to go for another piece of software.
