Userfields from Joomla core not shown in account maintenace

Userfields like "username" and "password" are selected to be shown in the account maintenace. But they won't be shown there. Whats going wrong?

As far as I can see the file edit_user.php in the frontend has been cancelled. I do not understand why???

Is it now necessary to create a separate Joomla menu to edit a user profile? These are then too much clicks for a customer. I liked the possibility to edit general user informations in VM.

This might work.
Saw a small  post this morning saying that you can turn them back on as 2.5.3 has turned some off in extensions..plugins>> manager>> user manager.

* just remember there is a major issue in joomla with this at the moment - 2.5.2 was being hacked.>. they forced an update to 2.5.3 and then some things did not work.

I hear an update is coming soon. early april.

* If you turn them back on you cannot ask to reset  you password. - the user name will come to you.

Should be there now. I'm using Joomla 2.5.6 VM 2.0.8e. You should see Shopper Information, Account details, Bill to, ship to in the Shopper information tab.

May be you need to update your Joomla.
