When I send an ask a question form in, the sender of the email is set to the vendor email address.  In vm 1.1 it would be set to the email of the person that filled out the form.  Why has this changed?  This function is very important to the way we use virtuemart.  Is there a way to change the sender address of the ask a question form to the email of the person filling out the form?

Thanks in advance.

 ssustar52,

Hi - I am confirming that I have the same issue - this problem only occurred recently - both vendor and buyer should  get the emails .

I'll post this in issue as a bug in 2.0.3 "g" versions and see if there is an answer.  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=99590.0
soon - I presume on an update.  Unless someone describes a hack - in this post.

Yes, that is happening too, but what my real issue is is that the from address of the email the vendor receives is the shop email address.  It needs to be able to be set to the email of the person sending in the form.  So when the vendor receives the email it appears as if it is coming from the person that filled out the form.

No I did not have that issue -

When I fill in the form "ask a question" I the vendor receive an email with the buyers email address -    but the buyer does not get a copy at all.

Sorry can't see that issue.  I have posted the question against "g" version so I hope they fix and test soon. ( to solve all our problems.)

I use JM 2.0.3 G - joomla 2.5.3

Yes, I get the buyers email address in the email as well, but who is that email from?  The email From field is the shop email address.  It should be from the buyer as it was in VM 1.0.9.

I am using VM 2.0.3G and J 2.5.3 as well.

similar problem here.

When a shopper asks a question, I get the email, but the name on the reply-adress is the vendors name, not the username of the shopper. So if I hit the 'reply' button in my email program the 'send to' is $vendor_name <$shopper_adress>. That is going to cause some mega confusion  ;D

I have customized the template to  use RS_JOOMLA as form management.
How can I get the vendor email and vendor name in the detail of a product

I have seeked $this->vendor properties but I get nothing.

thank  you for help
best regards
