have an add-to-cart button outside of the shop

Hello all,
  I am currently working on a project to make it where people can purchase tickets event.  I need to grab quite a bit more information than the default stuff that virtuemart grabs, I've made a form to do just that.  However, I'm not entirely sure how to go about making my "submit" button add the purchase to the cart. 

Do you guys have any suggestions to help with this issue?

I've found a solution to my problem, for those of you who find this in searches later. 

I found the best way is to make a module/category in joomla for a virtuemart product, and link it to a category I made in Virtuemart.  Then I found a good way was to add additional shopper fields for teh checkout. 

If you need something a bit more specific to the product, you can add custom fields to a product, and that works.  Not really the answer to my question, but a way to do what I needed to do.
