How do I turn off auto updates as when it updates it overwrites a lot of the setting i have applied such as layouts, Tax not included etc.

Thanks Mark

First of all, you should be using template overrides for your layouts which will not be overwritten on update.

Secondly, I'm not aware of any auto-updating. Using VM RC2M, it let's me know when there's an update, but I have to manually click to apply the update. I could be wrong, but that's my experience.

I beleive the Virtuemart-aio sorts the auto update and it does work as mine has gonr from k to m with no user intervention.

Also i have now created a file in the overides folder thanks for that but it also changed a lot of my settings such as i selected not to show price with tax and when it updated the price without and with tax appeared so something is being changed in the database also my settings for the category layouts were changed.

Also various other settings were changed, now the language overide solves a lot few issues but from an end users point of view would you want to re-do all your settings everytime an update comes out.

So do i uninstall the Virtuemar-aio and if i do will this affect my site?
Is there a way to let the updates run without actually changing any of my settings?

Thanks Mark

Remove it the same way you would any other component, but once you on Release M you don't need to worry, with release m they changed the update process and your settings are no longer affected. Id been following all the releases and had to keep changing my config back but after going from I to m i noticed that all my settings were exactly as i had left them.

The view overrides, how do those work, have not tried them since H, was not working so i have backups of all my modified default.php files but it would be a lot easier if i could use say custom.php and then never have to worry about it being replaced. Setting the default layout in config never worked, has this been then fixed?
I don't believe, therefore it does not exist
