No payment selected in virtuemart 3.8.9 (RC, J4.0 compatible)

DESCRIPTION OF THE ERROR WHEN TRYING TO PAY
There is a test environment with a joomla 4 site, along with the virtuemart component version 3.8.9 (RC, J4.0 compatible). This site corresponds to an existing site that was in joomla 3.10 and that was updated to joomla 4, subsequently making the corresponding adjustments to the errors that were appearing. When trying to carry out a payment process for a product, in a test, using Credit Card Sandbox, the following error occurs:

In the checkout form, after entering all the buyer's data, when clicking on the payment method section (Payment), an information window appears with the message "The payment plugin failed". Even so, the fields of that section appear (which were previously hidden), in which the card number, card type, verification code and expiration date are filled out. When trying to follow the process and click on the "Confirm Purchase" button, another window appears, this time with an error saying "No payment selected".
Could you tell me why these messages appear? Is it a problem with the payment method configuration, or is it a problem with some function that is not supported by joomla 4?
