Produce invoice only with confirmed orders

Hello all

We are new using Virtuemart 3.0, and we are trying to configure it so only orders with status "Completed" can have an invoice produced. We have found that there is an option under "Shop->Configuration->Email->Order Status to create an invoice" and we have set it up to "Completed". However we are able to see that orders with status "Pending" they also get their PDF invoice attached to them.

Is there any way to limit the PDF invoices only to Completed orders?

Hello sorry for not including the detais

We are using Joomla 3.4.5  and virtuemart 3.0.12. I know the configuration we are mention should act like this, but it is not. We are able to get an invoice as user even when the order is in status "Pending"

Both those versions are very old, and that Joomla version is certainly insecure.  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=118683.0

Current versions are Joomla 3.6.2 and VirtueMart 3.0.18 - suggest an update but test on a copy of your live site in case your template also needs updating. It is possible than an update will fix your invoice issue.
