Changine shop owner

VM: 3.0.12

Hi,

I have a store where I'd like to change the email address to which orders are sent. The current store owner is a test account (username: test-shop-admin, user id: 1), but now that it's time to put it live I need to hand ot over to the person who administers Joomla users etc. as well as managing shop products and orders (username: admin, user id: 1368).


However when I go to Virtuemart -> Shop -> Shopper Information and change the username and email address, I get the error "vmError: Save failed with the following error: Username in use." and it reverts to my test account.

Is there a special way to change this ? I have searched for similar questions but this doesn't seem to have been a problem for others ?

vm config -> enable tools

go to tools -- tools & migration -> Migration tab

at the bottom change store owner

make sure id1368 has already logged into the site so a VM shopper account is established

Hmm, I wondered if that might be the place.

Even though there is a shopper account though, when I enter the 1368 user id and click the button, I get a "Message: 1368" displayed at the top of the screen but going back to the Shop | Shopper Information tab still shows my test account.

you need to open the shopper account in VM admin and fill the details and save.. then you can change it in tools.. clonky I know but it works
