Hello there,

I have been having issues on product pricing recently.

After help in this forum, I was told it was a template issue.

Having contacted the template helpers, they have said its only compatible with virtuemart V2.

So; how do I downgrade? Can I simply install VM2 in extensions and that'll do it, or do I have to delete all virtuemart items then reinstall vm fresh?

A complete virtuemart newbie, so any helpful replies appreciated.

AH

You cannot downgrade as the database has changed

You would have to restore a backup of the old site before upgrade

Or uninstall and re-install VM - but you would lose everything in VM if you did this.

Whatever you do - try it on a test version of your site first

If you do not have a test version - you should set one up to allow you to test changes to your site - BEFORE doing anything with your live site.

I hope you can see that if you had a test site and performed the upgrade on that first, you would have been aware of the potential issues and probably not have updated live?

Also I would have thought any reputable template builder would at least offer - even for a fee - to get your template working on VM3 -
they aren't that different -- what happens when u rename the templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart folder?

Yepp, besides the layout overrides, old templates should still work. We have even a fallback to use the old css if in the template folder. So just disable your overrides and check the result.
