VirtueMart 3 on Joomla 3 - After upgrading backend control panel has been hidden

After upgrading the website randjequine.co.uk from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.0, I encountered fatal errors with VirtueMart.
Joomla prompted me to uninstall VM2 and replace it with VM3.
After doing this the front end was back to normal, however I am now unable to view much in the backend because the control panel is hidden by a blue banner (see attached image).

I would be extremely grateful if anyone could help me solve this problem.

That looks to be a problem with your Joomla admin template.  A couple things you could try.  If you can get to your template manager and select another admin template and see if it does anything similar.  The other thing would be to create/promote another user id to a super user and see if that login as the same issue.  I have the same kind of thing with one of my other super user profiles.  I have not had time to trouble shoot what is causing it.
